So this morning started with a very exciting time at the underground's crucible. We had a showcase where all of the micro churches in out network set up displays. It was a powerful time just seeing all of the work being done throughout the bay area. While we were there I ran into a friend that we met the other night at our conscious party and he and another guy came back and spent the day at our house just doing some laundry and helping out in the yard.
As I got home I got word of one of our home church members having been in a pretty serious car accident. David, Will and I headed off to the hospital while the rest of our community spent time with the guys at the house. Dennis, our friend and partner in ministry, had driven his truck under a semi truck and ripped the top of his truck off. It was amazing that he hadn't been decapitated. We found him in his hospital room in a neck brace with his eye swollen shut joking with the nurse. He was still in a great mood and seemed to be fine. He has some real back and neck pain and we are praying for the best as he goes for his MRI and other tests. Lord have mercy and thank you.
Then after getting home David found a blog that was written about a man that used to come to our house on a daily basis. The blog (from two years ago) told a story about this man that was SOOO familiar. We all got a kick out of reading about it and were really blown away by how many people had commented about there experiences with this same man. God bless him!
As the sun went down and we all gathered for our meeting we decided to let one of the guys that had spent the day at our house to spend the night since he had nowhere to else go and has a job interview in the morning. I am so impressed with this community that I live with and there willingness to offer everything that they have to those around us in need.
As we finished our meeting that we had in the freshly worked on back yard around a fire, roasting hot dogs, Gio busted out the guit-box. We sat around singing songs and just enjoying each other. All in all I'd have to say, today was a good day.
